Summerssorize

With must have...

Hat Trick

Prada

Seen at: Prada, Junya Watanabe, Anna Sui,
How to wear: Hats have made a huge statement this season by appearing on almost every catwalk show. Prada went stripe crazy with large sun hats resting on model’s backs with the ropes tied around their necks. Junya Wantabe went for the classic straw hat with a striped band while Marc Jacobs took center stage with an oversized berry hat. Straw hats with ditzy floral mini dresses are great together and oversized hats with floor sweeping maxi dresses give off that holiday look. If I had to pick which style was my favorite, I would have to say the Prada hat, because it radiates that Italian feel of being on a boat ride in Venice.

Miniature Arm Candy

Chanel

Seen at: Chanel, Miu Miu, ChloƩ, Dolce & Gabbana
How to wear: You can now give your arm a rest now as bags have been cut down in size. The miniature bag is the new ‘it’ bag. Parisian house Chanel went for their signature tweed style with hints of colour and topped off with Chanel logo and insect brooches. ChloĆ© on the other hand, went for a minimalist effect by creating white boxy bags with a gold zip finish. It’s definitely a good bag to carry your essentials like your phone, purse and car keys. This season is all about colour so wear opposite colours for that colour blocking effect. If want to go for a more subtle look then a patterned handbag paired with neutral tones should do the trick.

The New Bracelet

Altuzarra

Sean at: Dior, Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Altuzarra
How to wear: The bracelet has been updated and comes in various styles. It began with Altuzarra coiled a yellow rope with a metal plate coiled round a model’s arm while at Gaultier a scarf was tied for that rebel look. Chanel went for an edgy design with embellishments and distressed chains on bangles. When it comes to accessories, don’t let the accessories wear you.

Flatforms

Derek Lam

Seen at: Fendi, Prada, Chanel, Derek Lam
How to wear:Flatforms are the new ‘it’ shoes for spring. They are popular among the Japanese and Goth community. At Fendi, Flatforms were wooden with sling backs and finished off with a green heel and a blue front. Derek Lam opted for the t-bar look with a suede material. For the working environment, you can wear with a loose blouse and pencil skirt or a long fitted dress.
